1. Brush the item thoroughly to remove dust and loose dirt.
2. Shake the bottle well before use.
3. Spray evenly from approximately 20 cm / 8 in away.
4. Apply a light, controlled coat and avoid saturating the material.
5. If droplets remain on the surface, gently absorb them with a clean cotton cloth.
6. Allow to dry for approximately 6 hours before wearing or handling extensively.

Always test first on a discreet area, particularly when treating delicate or unfamiliar materials.

Protection is always easier than restoration. For a new pair of sneakers or casual shoes, I like to establish that protection before the first wear rather than waiting for the first encounter with rain, mud or an unfortunate spill.

The key is restraint. Protector is concentrated, so concentrate on achieving a light, even application rather than soaking the material. Reapply as the protection diminishes, particularly when footwear is being worn regularly through wet weather.

With smooth leather, make certain the surface is clean and sufficiently porous before application. Heavy accumulations of cream or wax can prevent the surface from accepting a treatment evenly, so Protector is better suited to clean smooth leather without substantial product buildup.
