1. Select a Pommadier Brush reserved for the colour family being applied.
2. Collect a small amount of cream or polish directly from the jar.
3. Apply the product evenly using small circular movements.
4. Use the tip and sides of the bristles to work around seams, broguing, welts and sole edges.
5. Allow the applied product to dry according to its instructions.
6. Buff the leather with a suitable polishing brush or cloth.

Always test the chosen cream or polish on an inconspicuous area before treating the complete item.

I recommend keeping at least two Pommadier Brushes: one for black and dark colours, and another for neutral and lighter shades. The bristles naturally retain traces of pigment and wax, so separating them prevents an unexpected dark colour from transferring onto lighter leather.

You do not need to discard a Pommadier Brush when the bristles become stiff with accumulated product. I use Saphir Médaille d’Or Wax Softener & Brush Cleaner to dissolve the dried cream and wax, then wipe away the residue and allow the brush to dry naturally. Proper cleaning restores the flexibility of the bristles and considerably extends the useful life of the brush.
