1. Remove dust and loose dirt with a clean brush or cloth.
2. If necessary, clean accumulated polish, dirt or dark marks with Saphir Réno’Mat and allow the leather to dry completely.
3. Test the selected colour on an inconspicuous area and allow it to dry before evaluating the match.
4. If necessary, blend two or more colours in a separate container to obtain a closer match. Prepare enough of the mixture to complete the entire repair.
5. Place a very small amount of Crème Rénovatrice onto a clean cotton cloth or gloved fingertip.
6. Apply the cream directly to the damaged area, keeping the treatment as localised as possible.
7. Feather the edges carefully into the surrounding colour to avoid creating a visible boundary.
8. Adjust the application thickness according to the damage. Several controlled layers generally produce a cleaner result than one excessively heavy application.
9. Allow the repair to dry for approximately ten minutes.
10. Inspect the result and repeat the application when additional coverage is required.
11. Allow the final layer to dry fully before handling, polishing or using the article.

Not suitable for suede, nubuck or other velvety leathers. Avoid using on patent leather, highly absorbent unfinished leather, delicate reptile leather or unfamiliar finishes without specialist testing.

Crème Rénovatrice restores surface colour but cannot repair tears, holes, deep cracks, missing leather or structural damage.

Crème Rénovatrice is a repair product, not a routine leather cream. Its concentrated pigments are intended for scratches, worn edges and specific areas of colour loss. Applying it unnecessarily over an entire shoe can conceal the natural character of the leather and produce an overly uniform finish.

Colour matching should always be judged after the product has dried. Begin with the closest available shade and make small adjustments gradually. If you create a custom mixture, record the proportions and prepare enough product to complete the repair. Any remaining mixture can be kept in a suitably sized airtight container.

On light-coloured leather, clean the surface thoroughly before attempting to recolour it. Dirt and dark marks should be removed whenever possible rather than covered with additional pigment.

For a larger damaged area, a small sponge can be used with a light tapping motion. This helps reproduce the natural visual texture of grained leather and avoids creating an unnaturally smooth patch.

When a more fluid consistency or lighter pigmentation is required, Saphir advises mixing Crème Rénovatrice with a small quantity of Crème Universelle. Add it gradually, as excessive dilution will reduce the cream’s covering power.

Protect clothing and surrounding surfaces during application. The formula is highly pigmented and may stain textiles, porous materials and skin before it has dried.
