1. Remove loose dust and surface dirt from the item before application.
2. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
3. Apply a small amount of Cleaning Lotion to a clean, soft cotton cloth.
4. Work the lotion evenly over the surface using gentle circular motions.
5. Pay additional attention to areas with accumulated dirt or excess wax deposits without aggressively rubbing the material.
6. Allow the product to dry.
7. Buff the treated surface with a clean cloth or appropriate polishing brush to develop the shine provided by the carnauba wax.

Always test on an inconspicuous area before full application, particularly when treating unusual finishes, printed materials, or delicate colours.

Cleaning Lotion is the type of product I like for regular maintenance rather than a complete reset. If the leather simply needs cleaning and refreshing, there is little reason to reach immediately for a strong cleaner and remove everything you've built up through previous care.

Its versatility is also particularly useful when caring for footwear that combines several materials. Take your time around transitions between leather, coated materials, and rubber, using a clean section of your cloth as you move from one surface to another. This prevents the dirt you've just removed from one material from being transferred straight onto the next.

For heavily soiled leather or substantial layers of old product, I would move to a dedicated Saphir Beauté du Cuir deep cleaner such as Réno'Mat Leather Cleaner instead.
