Wrap a clean section of the cloth firmly around your index and middle fingers, creating a smooth polishing surface without folds over the fingertips.

Use it with your preferred mirror-shine wax, applying the controlled pressure and small circular movements appropriate to your technique. As the cloth accumulates wax, periodically move to a fresh section to maintain a clean working surface.

For mirror shining, I would pair it first with Saphir Médaille d'Or Pâte de Luxe, or with Mirror Gloss when building the harder upper layers of a high shine. Both products are specifically included by Saphir Médaille d'Or within its mirror-gloss system.

This is not the cloth I would necessarily put into the hands of someone learning their first mirror shine. Its advantage becomes apparent once your technique is developed: the thin, dense surface gives you much more direct feedback through the fingertips.

For experienced shoeshiners, that sensitivity is extremely useful. You can better feel when the surface is beginning to drag, when another trace of water is needed, and when it is better simply to continue polishing rather than adding more wax.

Keep different sections of the cloth clean as you work. A beautiful mirror shine is built through control, not through loading the leather with excessive product.
