1. Wrap a clean section of the cloth comfortably around your fingers.
2. Apply a small amount of your chosen leather cream to the cloth.
3. Work the product evenly into the leather according to the product's application instructions.
4. When buffing, use a clean section of the cloth to polish the surface and develop the shine.

I recommend keeping different areas of your cloth dedicated to different jobs. Use one section for applying cream and reserve a clean section for your final buff. This prevents excess product from being transferred back onto the leather just as you're developing the finish.

If you regularly work with strongly pigmented creams, keeping separate cloths for lighter and darker colours is also a very practical habit.
