1. Remove dust and loose surface dirt with a clean horsehair brush.
2. If the leather is heavily soiled or contains accumulated polish, clean it with Saphir Réno’Mat and allow it to dry completely.
3. Select the colour that most closely corresponds to the leather, or choose Neutral when additional pigment is not required.
4. Test the cream on an inconspicuous area, particularly when treating light-coloured, absorbent or unfamiliar leather.
5. Place a very small amount of Crème Surfine onto a soft cotton cloth or Pommadier application brush.
6. Massage the cream gently into the leather using small circular movements.
7. Apply a thin, even layer across the complete shoe or corresponding leather panel.
8. Use a Pommadier brush around the welt, seams, broguing and other difficult-to-reach areas.
9. Avoid allowing excess cream to accumulate around stitching or decorative perforations.
10. Allow the cream to dry completely.
11. Buff thoroughly with a clean horsehair brush until the surface feels dry and an even shine develops.
12. If a more pronounced shine is desired, apply an appropriate wax polish only after the cream has dried and been fully buffed.

Not suitable for suede, nubuck or other velvety leathers. Avoid using on patent leather, reptile leather, highly absorbent unfinished leather or delicate aniline leather unless compatibility has been confirmed through testing.

Crème Surfine combines several stages of traditional shoe care in one treatment: light cleaning, nourishment, colour maintenance, protection and shine. This makes it an excellent choice for footwear that receives care less frequently, although the best results still come from applying the product sparingly and buffing thoroughly.

The formula is concentrated, so a small quantity is sufficient. Applying too much cream does not improve nourishment and may leave residue around seams or create an uneven finish. Begin with a very thin layer and add more only if the leather continues to absorb it readily.

Choose a pigmented colour when the leather appears faded or requires greater depth. Neutral is preferable for multicoloured shoes or when you want nourishment without deliberately changing the shade. Any conditioning cream may temporarily deepen absorbent leather, so always test first.

Crème Surfine is designed to maintain and refresh the existing colour. If the leather has extensive pigment loss, deep scratches or heavily worn areas, use Juvacuir or Crème Rénovatrice for the necessary colour restoration before returning to routine care.

I recommend keeping separate application brushes and polishing brushes for light and dark colour families. Residual pigment trapped in the bristles can transfer to a lighter pair during a later treatment.

For additional protection and a more pronounced shine, finish with Saphir Pâte de Luxe. Use Amiral Gloss only on rigid toe caps and heel counters when an exceptionally high mirror shine is required.
