¿How to clean suede shoes?

Before you Start; Always remove the laces off your shoes before cleaning. You can clean them separately.
- Make sure that you have all the items listed previously to ensure the best result!
- Do not rush the process: each step is crucial and cleaning/drying times need to be followed for success.

- Your are ready to start cleaning your shoes! Let’s dive-in:
Step 1 Prepare your Shoes
Remove any surface dry stains and dirt with the Polishing Brush Saphir Médaille d'Or.
- Carefully rub the suede with the brush using back-and-forth motions.
Note: Be mindful of your pressure, Suede can get burnt if it is rubbed applying too much pressure.
Step 2 Shampoo andDeep Clean
Use Saphir Cleaner Omni’nettoyant suede shampoo for a deep cleanse.
- In a container, dilute the Cleaner with warm water. Follow the instructions on the box to ensure proper ratio of Cleaner and water.
- Then, apply the mixture with the brush provided in the box.
- Rub the product and shampoo your shoes evenly, to ensure that there won ’t be a variation of color.
- Once the shoes are fully shampooed, rinse them gently with water.
Advice: Do a test first on a small area of the leather to verify the final result.
Step 3 Dry your shoes
Stuff your shoes with newspaper to maintain their shape and absorb excess water.
- Allow them to dry overnight, until no moisture remains.
Note: You might be tempted to accelerate the drying process, but it will only harm the shoes. Do not expose the shoes to heat or sunlight, this would be damaging to the leather and give an uneven color as well as harden the Suede.
Step 4 Stubborn Stains (Optional)
Identify and remove dry or difficult stains using the Spahir Gommadin Suede Eraser.
- Apply moderate pressure while rubbing the stains with the eraser.
Note: Be mindful of your pressure, Suede can get burnt if it is rubbed applying too much pressure.
Step 5 Brush your Shoes
Once the shoes are fully cleaned, use the Saphir Medaille d'Or Crepe Brush.
- Brush the suede with back-and-forth motions allowing the leather to regain it's original fluff and natural beauty.
Note: This brush works best if used at room temperature, allowing the rubber to maintain its soft and sticky features. Do not store the brush in a cold place, as this can affect the efficiency of the rubber.
Step 6 Apply Conditioner & Renovate the color
Depending on the color state of you Shoes you can choose to apply the Neutral Renovateur Spray or a colored shade (available in Light Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown, Black, Navy).
- Apply the Renovateur Suede and Nubuck Spray that fits best your shoe’s color. This will help to nourish the suede back to its original depth.
- Allow the shoes to dry for 20 to 30 minutes.
Note: When applying the Spray, keep a distance of approximately 12 inches. Do not saturate the item.
Step 7 Keep themin Shape!
Once the shoes are fully dried, remove the newspapper and insert the LCA Men Wooden Shoe Trees Beech Satin back inside your shoes.
Step 8 Always protected!
Use the Saphir Waterproofing spray Super Invulner for an effective protection against water, snow, dirt or stains.
- Shake the can vigorously before spraying lightly and evenly at a distance of about 10 Inches (25cm).
- Allow it to dry for 5-10 minutes.
Note: To ensure optimal protection, don ’t forget to waterproof your shoes regularly.
