Formulated specifically for coated leathers, it removes dirt, dust, fingerprints, and everyday marks while helping preserve the brilliant shine that makes patent leather unique.

Unlike traditional smooth leather, patent leather is protected by a glossy lacquer coating and cannot be treated with conventional waxes or creams. Vernis Rife has been developed specifically for these delicate finishes, helping to keep patent leather looking polished, vibrant, and well-maintained.

Available in both Black and Neutral, the formula can also help conceal minor surface imperfections on black patent leather while providing ongoing protection against dullness and wear.

How to Use

1. Remove surface dust and dirt with a soft cloth.

2. Shake the bottle well before use.

3. Apply a small amount of Vernis Rife to the included chamois cloth or a clean cotton cloth.

4. Work evenly over the leather using gentle circular motions.

5. Allow the product to dry for approximately three minutes.

6. Remove any excess product with a clean cloth.

7. Buff lightly with a soft polishing cloth or brush to maximise shine.

Tips from Preston

One of the most common mistakes I see is treating patent leather like smooth calfskin. Patent leather has a protective lacquer coating, which means traditional creams and waxes cannot penetrate the surface. Vernis Rife is specifically designed for this type of leather and helps maintain the glossy finish without creating buildup.

For black patent leather, the black version can also help refresh the appearance of light scuffs and minor surface marks. For all other colours, use the Neutral Vernis Rife.
