    Before you Start:

    1. Always remove the laces off your shoes before cleaning. You can clean them separately.
    2. Make sure that you have all the items listed previously to
    ensure the best result!
    3. Do not rush the process: each step is crucial and cleaning/drying times need to be followed for success.
    4. Your are ready to dye your suede shoes! Let’s dive-in:

    Step 1: Prep your Shoes

Start by cleaning the surface dirt off your suede shoes. Use a Crepe Brush for dust and the Gommadin Suede Eraser for stubborn stains. For intensive deep cleaning, use the Cleaner Omni’nettoyant and ensure your shoes are completely dry before the next step.

    Step 2: Prep your Shoes

Cover all the areas you don’t want to dye, such as zippers, fabric or soles, with tape. This ensures a clean and precise dyeing process.

Step 3: Mixing and Applying the Dye

Stir the Saphir Teinture Francaise Dye well before starting. Apply the dye using the brush provided, working in small circular motions.

Depending on the desired color change, you may need to apply multiple coats, ensuring each coat dries thoroughly before proceeding to the next one.

    Note:

    • Do a test first on a small area of the leather to verify the final result.
    • The Dye is only to be used to darken a light colour shade.
    • You can compose your own colours as all the Saphir Teinture, Francaise Dyes are mixable.
    • You might be tempted to accelerate the drying process, but it will only harm the shoes.
    • Do not expose the shoes to heat or sunlight, this would be damaging to the leather and give an uneven color as well as harden the Suede.

      Step 4: Drying Time

Stuff your shoes with newspaper to maintain their shape and absorb excess moisture.

      • Allow the dyed suede shoes to dry for approximately 12 hours.

Note: During this time, the suede may appear slightly stiff, which is normal.

Even if you dye them for an aesthetic reason and not for a stain, it’s important to clean the surface dirt.

      Step 5: Restoring Texture

Once the shoes are completely dry, use the Crepe Brush to gently brush the suede in circular motions. This helps revive the texture and return it to its velvety appearance.

      • Brush the suede with back-and-forth motions allowing the leather to regain its original fluff and natural beauty.

Note: Be mindful of your pressure, Suede can get burnt if it is rubbed applying too much pressure.

Step 6: Keep them in shape!

Once the shoes are fully dried, remove the newspapper and insert the LCA Men Wooden Shoe Trees Beech Satin back inside your shoes.

      Tips for Optimal Results

Keep the protective tape in place until the dye has fully dried to
      avoid any accidental color transfer.

      1. Consider applying the Saphir Waterproofing spray Super Invulner after dyeing to maintain the color and protect the suede from damage.
      2. If dyeing a suede bag, perform a test before regular use to avoid any potential color transfer.
      3. To maintain the color and vibrancy of your dyed suede shoes, consider using the Renovateur Suede and Nubuck Spray periodically.
